spilsby light night
All things considered Different Light had a pretty good year in 2020. None of us could have predicted how the year was going to pan out of course, so the fact that we managed to deliver the second Spilsby Light Night on 7th March (just 2 weeks before the first Lockdown) was something of a miracle.
Lockdown restrictions led to us pitching to Magna Vitae & the SO Festival for a commission as part of their 2020 online SOfa Fest and as a result we were delighted to be able to deliver The Butterfly Project which saw us team up with the brilliant Barret Hodgson again alongside lots of people from across Lincolnshire and we were really pleased with the results. The success of the Butterfly Project led in turn to discussions with East Lindsey District Council about a Christmas project which resulted in Hope & Light (and the involvement of over 1000 local people) as well as discussions with South Holland District Council which resulted in the March of the Nutcrackers!

Both of these have led in turn to further discussions with East Lindsey, as well as new conversations with the East Coast Business Improvement District, Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust, South Kesteven District Council and Vessel Projects. And before all of those, we’d made a successful application for a commission with Junction Arts in Derbyshire to deliver a community projection project in the town of Clay Cross in March 2021. So it’s safe to say we’ve got a few things in the pipeline…
Massive thanks to everyone we’ve worked with so far and especially to those who took a chance and commissioned us  – we look forward to working with you all again in 2021, plus, we hope, with loads more people too. This may well be almost entirely through a screen, but who knows we might event be able to be in the same place at the same time by the end of the year! ]
Everything crossed X
